Putting up The Tree

Talking to Amy on Sunday was a bit of a mistake. She told us that they had put up their Christmas tree that afternoon. Of course, Hunter decided we had to have ours up too. We put him off until Monday. He was so excited he could hardly put ornaments on fast enough, and if you look really closely many of them ended up on the front lower branches. I have slowly and slyly moved some around over the last 24 hours to help even things out. Dad put the angel on top and we turned on the lights. With Christmas music in the background, it was really a nice time. Hunter just sat by the tree, transporting ornaments on his Thomas train cars. Then we popped popcorn and watched The Grinch and Shrek's Christmas specials on tv. On Tuesday we set out nativity sets, other decorations around the house, and even wrapped the deck railing in lights. Hunter kept exclaiming how beautiful everything was which kind of cracks me up because he says beautiful in such a cute way. For any of you who have seen that carpet cleaning commercial where the little boy keeps saying beautiful, you get the idea. Anyway we are officially into the Christmas spirit and it is very fun because Hunter is so Into It this year! Happy Birthday, Jesus!
PS. Feel free to leave comments on traditions and activities you do to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I am looking for ideas and new traditions to start with our family!

LOVE the video!! our tradition is the following- nothing happens until I'm in the mood and Jer hates the day when he gets home from work and I say 'Look what I got out of the attic today!!' and then he has to help me hang a bunch of stuff- I mentioned lights all around the house this year and he just laughed.....
