Christmas Eve at the Schaetzles

We had our big Schaetzle gathering on Christmas eve.  It was a joy to have everyone together.  It began with the Christmas story from Luke 2 and progressed to presents, lots of good food, and fun times playing with new toys including marshmallow guns and a wii.  We are so blessed to have such a close family that enjoys spending time together.

We got a nice picture of all the grandkids for Grandma and Grandpa S.

The excitement and food proved to be to much for some

Cherub Choir

Sunday evening was our church children's Christmas program.  The Christmas musical is for school-age kids, but for the younger ones, they have what they call the "Cherub Choir" first.  This is the 3,4, and 5 year olds singing a couple of cute Christmas songs.  Hunter did really well this year.  He really liked the songs, and we got there really early so he knew right where we were sitting.  Plus knowing what it would be like since he did it last year,  I coached him through things ahead of time like there being lots and lots of parents and grandparents; don't get nervous, just watch your normal music leaders, etc.  So this year, instead of standing there like a petrified stick, he actually did the motions and really sang.  All the kids did a great job.  It's always so cute at this age. Plus I know so many of the kids because I teach the Bible story each Wednesday night in his class that it was really fun to watch them all.
