Saturday was spent at a second Thanksgiving with the Schaetzle side of the family. We had a delicious turkey dinner, and decided it was definitely time for a bigger table. That's always a good problem to have, and hopefully next year there will be one more family member. Scott's sister and brother-in-law have been waiting (for what feels like forever, especially to them) to adopt a baby from China. We are all praying that it will happen in 2010.
The rest of the day was spent in leisure and togetherness. Some of the guys went shooting since cousin Tate just got his license. We also played some rousing games of Blokus, Bingo, and even Candyland. Hunter really got into Candyland and loved it. We don't have that so I guess we have another idea for Christmas. I tell you...this kid is too easy to buy for. We are having a hard time limiting ourselves and picking and choosing what would be best without going overboard! Anyway that is another post I'm sure.
I am so thankful for two families that we are a part of. As tough as it is to work out schedules for getting together sometimes, everyone tries to be flexible and make it work. The end product is usually two celebrations and days of family fun and memories. Do you know how rare that is in today's world? At least in our busy, disfunctional society? God has truly blessed Scott, Hunter, and me. May we always be filled with gratitude for such loving, supportive people that God has made us a part of.
After all the games, Hunter "read" a tractor magazine with Grandpa S. It suddently got very quiet. The poor boy just couldn't take all the turkey and fun!
