Well, the pictures really say it all. I was working on sorting and tagging clothes for a sale, and Scott was installing lighting in the addition. Hunter was occupying himself. About an hour later, when I was helping him clean up toys in the yard, I realized that the back of his head had rectangular bald spots on the right side. He is left-handed so I knew immediately what happened. When I asked what happened to his hair, he said nothing, at first. When I said I knew he cut it with scissors, he replied, "Well I had a long spot that was bugging me but it's ok now." Because he couldn't see where he had cut he honestly didn't realize what he had done until I took a picture of it with the digital camera and showed him. Then he was completely embarrassed. It didn't really help that Scott and I could not stop laughing about it.
So I called the barber, Grandpa S., who was home thankfully. We went up to see what he could do. Of course then Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle Chad were laughing which only made Hunter's attitude all the worse because of embarrassment. I think he was told no less than 3 times by 3 different grown-ups that scissors were not for hair and ask Mom and Dad first before cutting ANYTHING!
So he got buzzed down as short as we dared go. Unfortunately, the cuts are still visible but not quite as bad as they were before. I told Grandpa we'd be back in two weeks for another trim to try to even it out some more. Honestly, I wasn't even upset; I just thought the whole thing quite funny. His future wife will love seeing pics of this someday!
And, no matter what, he is still my handsome guy!
