Growing leaps
I continue to be amazed at how we seem to have not only physical growth spurts but also developmental/intellectual growth spurts. Lately Hunter has had some accomplishments (at least in my eyes) that I don't want to forget. So I'm sharing them with you all. The first thing he did was to trace around his own hand and feet the other night. It really surprised me, and I thought them to be great artwork. I did notice that he only managed to trace his right hand which reinforces to me that he is truly a lefty.

So cute that the left foot is so big. I think he was probably drawing it with his right hand, although I can't be sure since I didn't witness the creation.
He also wrote his name on his nametag at church on Tuesday all by himself (although I did have to guide a little on the E because of squeezing it into the correct space). Granted, nametags aren't quite big enough for a three year old's motor coordination, so the last 3 letters had to be put on top of the first three. I guess we should have given him a shorter name. Luckily the lady in his class knows him very well, so she doesn't need to read the name. She was great at making it a big deal that he had written it all by himself. It seems like just a couple weeks ago that he only knew H and T, so this leap has me very excited. It's probably the teacher in me, but come on, he is still only 3 and he is writing his name now. WOOHOOO! I do think we will wait awhile to attempt Schaetzle...probably a little overwhelming still.
