I've definitely needed to put in a new post for all you faithful followers. However, it's been one of those weeks where life just got to busy to remember to carry a camera and snap pictures. Two neat things occured in the latter part of this week though.
1. Date night: My husband planned a great date Friday night. It was surprising on so many levels. First, he planned it all: dinner, entertainment, AND babysitting without saying a thing to me. Second, it was an evening totally geared toward me. We went to Fort Wayne, which is quite a trek for him after a full week's work. After dinner at Olive Garden, which I really like, we went to the Selah concert where we had great artist circle seats. It was an excellent evening of togetherness and time praising God. Bravo to my husband for keeping the romance alive.
2. Hunter farming with Grandpa: Saturday, Hunter and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Neild. He got to go help Grandpa disc a field, which thrilled him. As I was dropping him off, Grandpa said he'll probably only last about half an hour. I said I would come back over and pick him up since the field was about 5 minutes away from their house. I went back to help Grandma with some things, and time flew so it was about an hour later that I was pulling back into the field. As I pulled in I could see my dad still managing to get his work completed while cradling the sleeping form of my son, John Deere hat pulled down low, sleeping across his arms. It was such a wonderful sight that really pulled at my heartstrings, but alas, I had no camera.
It made me think of myself. How I often work myself to the point of exhaustion trying to get everything done and be a part of it all. I am so thankful that I can find rest in my Heavenly Father's arms even as He continues His work in my life and in His Kingdom here on earth. What a picture of unconditional love and peace. And it's offered to each of us with no strings attached from the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe! Amazing!

Hey Jen! I just stumbled onto your blog from Chanelle's. Your son is adorable. Aren't boys the best? We just added our third boy last week. Glad you are doing well!
