Christmas in September

My husband has started his Christmas shopping already. I know...it is very hard to believe that the man who usually waits until either the Saturday before Christmas or even Christmas Eve to get his shopping done has already jumped into this task. Fall doesn't technically get here until tomorrow. Over the last two weeks, I've had fun opening the boxes to see what he has purchased because it has all been for Hunter (imagine that!). Then he tells me to stop opening boxes before he checks them because he has bought something for me. Of course I say "Ok" with the best intentions. Not two days later however, I come home from grocery shopping and lying on the porch is a kitchen aid box with an address label. I burst out laughing because every other box has come to our house wrapped and taped to the hilt so there is no way anyone can tell what is inside. Then the one thing he orders for me is not wrapped at all and has pictures of what it is and/or diagrams of how it works on all four sides of the box. Needless to say, Scott was not happy when he got home. I, however, was in the middle of making yet another batch of spaghetti sauce and begged and begged to have it early. After some grumbling, he gave in and brought out a 3 cup mini-chopper. I had so much fun with it that day, and it saves me so much work in hand chopping all the veggies I use for sauce and salsa. I even used it today to chop Doritos to sprinkle in the taco pie for supper. I love it!!!! So even though I've been told I'm not getting anything for Christmas now, I am one happy lady canning in the kitchen! Way to go, Honey!
