Last night we had Hunter's birthday party, as well as mine. It was a John Deere party (which I've always wanted). When Hunter was born the day before my birthday, I knew that never again would I have a party for my birthday. The funny thing is, this really seems to run in the Schaetzle family. My brother-in-law's birthday is the day after his daughter's, my sister-in-law and her husband have the same birthday, my niece's birthday is just a couple of days before my other sister-in-law's birthday. Hence, alot of our birthday parties are combinations, and truthfully, I don't mind sharing with my awesome boy. Usually after we have his cake, ice cream, and presents and he has run off to play with cousins and new toys, then I open my gifts with the adults sitting around visiting. That is how last night went, and it was a good time with family (although I missed my dad who is on a missions trip in South America). I made Hunter a John Deere cake and for my sister's benefit included all the views.

I know it's a little crooked; apparently my cake carving skills need some work. |

Now we can bowl at home |

His own fishing pole and bobbers; no more using Dad's old ones. |

Shelby just liked the wrapping paper; that's all we are going to get her for her birthday! |

Scott got me a kindle, yay! |

My mom and mother-in-law got me the same deviled egg dish. Can you tell I like to make deviled eggs for family functions? I assured them they both have great taste. |

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the pictures. Love the cake, even if it is a little crooked. Wish we could have been there (as always).
You did a great job on the cake! I'm so impressed! You will love your kindle!
Happy Birthday to you both!
Happy birthday, Jen! I didn't realize that you and Hunter had birthdays so close. Looks like you had a grand time!
P.S. Think you could bring some of those yummy deviled eggs with you to our family gathering on the 4th?? :)
