Attitude of Gratitude

As I type this, I am sitting outside on a blanket watching Hunter play after finishing our picnic lunch. The day is beautiful, sunny, breezy, so warm we are in shorts and t-shirts. I had to take a minute and record my thoughts as a public thank you to the Lord. I am overwhelmed almost to the point of tears with thankfulness. For life. For beautiful days. For little bare feet. For the opportunity to be outside picnicing with my son who is full of life and energy, able to run and laugh. I can't believe how blessed I am to have a husband who works hard and finances so carefully that I may be here explaining the parts of a tree to this bundle of curiosity. Some days amid crankiness, toys everywhere, a hundred trips to the potty, and the busyness of life, my attitude frankly isn't always what it should be. So today as a little dump truck moves rocks from one part of the driveway to another, I say, "Thank you, Lord Jesus. I am truly blessed because I know not all woman have this, and I wouldn't want to miss a moment of it." Especially when those bare feet coming running up to me and those little arms get flung around my neck and the voice of my precious son sings out, "Mommy, I know I love you!"
